Tourist Attractions


    Cali offers a great variety of tourist attractions of great interest that you will be able to discover depending on your preferences and tastes.

    From the Cali river, the city is divided into two sections:

    • South from the river, you may find the original heart of the city that has developed around the Caycedo Plaza. It is the area of major tourist attractions that include churches and museums and where, currently, a longitudinal axe is developing.
    • Avenida Sexta is found North of the river, which served as the initial development of the area with refined shops, restaurants, cafeterias and bars.

Main popular centers


  • Cali River: It is one of the most tranquil areas of the city, the river is found West and is surrounded of restaurants, hotels and museums as “La Tertulia”, an art musuem.
  • Cali Zoo: Considered as one of the three best zoos in Latin America, hosts more than two thousand animals in its 11 hectareas. It is located next to the Cali river, just where the mountains and valley converge.
  • Cristo Rey:. The Cristo Rey statue is a religious monument, located in the Cristales mountain range, that offers the best view to the city. The statue is 31 meters high, from which 5 belong to the base.
  • Tres Cruces mountain range: In the last decades, it became the meeting point of athletes that hike up and down the mountain range. At Easter, catholic pilgrims from Cali (caleños) and foreigners hike up accomplishing promises.
  • Parque del perro: It is characterized by being a festivity place in the San Fernando town, one of the most popular areas of the city with restaurants and bars. The park receives its name from the dog monument in the middle of the park.
  • San Joaquín Avenue: It is another popular area in the South of the city, in the Ciudad Jardín town.
  • Carrera 66: It is also in the South of the city, in recent years it has become a fashionable area with restaurants, bars and discotheques.
  • Menga: Located in the North of Santiago de Cali, it is one of the most representative areas for rumba in the city and where you may find all rhythms at the same time. It is a platform where you will be able to see the best artists in action, comfortable facilities, club atmosphere, cut edge technology in sound and robotic lights.
  • Sebastian de Belalcázar monument: It is the most visited and popular monument situated in the hills that overlooks the city, in the West. The monument is characterized by the finger pointing to the opposite direction of the valley, while the face looks down to the city.
  • Gato de Tejada: It is found next to the Cali River in the West. It receives the name in honor of the sculptor Tejada, originally from Cali (“caleño”).
  • San Antonio: It is one of the oldest towns in the city of Cali. Despite being separated by the Quinta street, it keeps its traditional aura. The town is in a hill, and the San Antonio park is found in the upper part. Also, you may find some restaurants and around it the Artesanal Loma de la Cruz park, where you may find a great variety of typical articrafts of the region.
  • El Peñon: Currently, it is one of the most fashionable areas located in the Northwest side of the city. It is a town recognized by its restaurants, bars and discotheques of good taste for young adults.
  • Juanchito: It is an area with a great number of discotheques dedicated to Salsa music (Agapito, Chango, etc.) together with some of the poorest areas of the city. Technically, it belongs to the Candelaria municipality, but it is often visited by “caleños”. It is said that if Cali is the capital of salsa, Juanchito is the temple that adores its cult. To get there, the “caleños” have to cross a bridge over the Cauca river, that has been immortalized in the Salsa song titled: “Del puente para allá es Juanchito”.
  • Farallones de Cali: The Farallones de Cali is a National park protected by the government. In recent years, it has experienced an increase of visitors as a tourist destination for rock climbers, hikers, nature lovers, or simply for those who look for some rest and warm climate.
