The happiness and sponteinity of the people provide the city a dynamism that is not common around the “caleña” night. In the Northern and Southern areas of the city, there are numerous discoteques, restaurants and night clubs with a great variety of commercial areas, where you may enjoy good food, beverage and music. Within the boundaries of the city there is the “hora zanahoria”, and the properties remain open until 2 o'clock in the morning, but there are areas such as, Menga and Juanchito that, apart from being emblematic due to Salsa dancing and a good rumba dancing, they have become an alternative to continue the night fun to dance away the night.
The great majority of commercial centers of Cali have spaces for family gatherings, as well as, different options to taste good food. Among these commercial areas or malls, the following are noteworthy:
Cali has been recognized as the “American Sport venue”.
The city constructed new sport facilities and accommodated the old stages to host the World Games 2013.
The most popular sport in the city is football. The city's professional clubs have been 22 times champion of the Colombia's first division (Dimayor), making Cali the city with the highest number of obtained titles, together with Bogotá and followed by Medellín.
In terms of international tournaments, the city has been the venue of the finals of the American Copa Libertadores in 6 opportunities with same number of second runner ups.
During 2010, the city had a professional baseball club called “Toros Cali un Nuevo Latir”.
The excellent sport infrastructure have allowed it to be the venue of important world championships.
